Synonyms ATP10A; ATP10C; ATPVA; ATPVC; ATPase class V type 10A; Aminophospholipid translocase VA; KIAA0566; P4-ATPase flippase complex alpha subunit ATP10A
DT Family P-Type ATPase (P-ATPase) Superfamily ;
Tissue Specificity Widely expressed, with highest levels inkidney, followed by lung, brain, prostate, testis, ovary and smallintestine.
Function This transporter is a P4-ATPase flippase complex which catalyzes the hydrolysis of ATP coupled to the transport of aminophospholipids from the outer to the inner leaflet of various membranes and ensures the maintenance of asymmetric distribution of phospholipids. Phospholipid translocation seems also to be implicated in vesicle formation and in uptake of lipid signaling molecules.
Endogenous Substrate(s) Phosphatidylserine
